Ambitious about autism

Wilson Partners supports the Employee Autism Programme. In our ever-changing world, we are continually learning and have come to recognise that autistic people bring unique qualities and diverse perspectives to the workplace.

An estimated one in every 100 people are autistic, yet only 22% of autistic adults in the UK are in full-time employment. Part of the problem is the lack of understanding around autism and other neurodivergent conditions. Neurodiversity can be a huge advantage for accounting firms! The traits shared by many people with ASD, such as brilliant long-term memory, problem-solving (one University of Montreal study suggests people with autism are 40% better at solving problems than people without) and unrivalled pattern-spotting skills, are all valuable when working in our industry.

We’re keen to help improve awareness and enhance our business in the process and so we are proud to partner with Ambitious About Autism, a national charity that supports autistic children and young people and their families, believing every autistic child and young person has the right to be themselves and realise their ambitions. The charity works to champion rights, campaign for change and create opportunities. Working alongside us, they will help us enhance our hiring practices and working environment providing a better experience for our workforce as a whole whilst improving our appeal to a more diverse audience.
