The Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, has asked the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) to publish an economic and fiscal forecast on 3 March 2026, alongside a formal statement to Parliament.
As confirmed at the Budget, the Spring Forecast is intended to provide an interim update on the state of the UK economy and public finances. Unlike a full Budget, it will not assess the government’s performance against its fiscal mandate.
As a result, the forecast is not expected to lead to any immediate changes in tax policy. However, clarity will only come once the OBR’s forecast has been published and the Chancellor has responded to its findings in Parliament.
Further details will be analysed once the Spring Forecast is released, and updates will follow as more information becomes available.
