Deal overview

Milient Software, a leading provider of cloud-based project management solutions for architects, engineers, and consultants, has acquired UK-based Cubic Interactive, whose Rapport3 software provides a project and resource management system designed for architects, engineers and project managers.

The acquisition will enable Milient to strengthen its presence in the UK market and expand its service offerings.

Milient Software is a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for project management, time reporting, resource planning, invoicing, quality assurance, and knowledge sharing. Designed for architects, engineers, and consultants, Milient’s platform enables seamless data flow across more than 50 integrated systems – reducing manual work and increasing efficiency for its customers.

Milient serves around 1,500 customers and has users in 69 countries. The company expects annual subscription revenues of approximately €12 million in 2025, employs 92 people, and operates offices from Oslo, Stockholm, Linköping, Nivelle, Nottingham, Ireland, Harrogate, and Hanoi.

Milient Software is owned by Monterro, the Nordic region’s leading growth investor specialising in B2B software.

Rapport3 is a purpose-built cloud platform for project and resource management, tailored for architects, engineers, and project managers in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) sector. The system offers tools covering project planning, expense tracking, resource allocation, business intelligence, and seamless integration with third-party systems to drive operational efficiency.

Rapport3 is delivered by Cubic Interactive, and the company prides itself on high customer satisfaction, flexibility, and ongoing innovation. Headquartered in the UK, with a presence in global markets, Cubic works closely with clients to continuously evolve its product suite.

Cubic serves over 230 customers worldwide, employs a team of 43, and is on track to reach £2.9 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in 2025.

Lars Owe Berge Nyland, CEO of Milient Software said “The acquisition of Cubic Interactive is fully aligned with Milient’s growth strategy. Following our previous acquisition of Flo10, this marks our second acquisition in the UK and further strengthens our position in this key market. It also makes us the largest provider in the industry. With Cubic on board, we gain new customers, a complementary product, and a team of talented professionals. “We expect continued growth and productivity gains from this acquisition. For our customers, this means access to better, more innovative solutions that make their workday easier.”

Daniel LoGiudice, Director of Cubic Interactive Commented: “Joining forces with Milient marks an incredibly exciting milestone for us. From our very first conversations, it was clear that our two companies share the same culture, values, and commitment to putting customers first. This partnership feels like a natural progression – one that not only strengthens what we’ve built at Cubic but also opens up new opportunities for innovation and growth. Together, we’ll be able to deliver even more value to our customers, expand into new markets, and continue pushing forward our shared vision for how technology can transform the way professional services firms work.”

Corporate Finance Director, Philip Atkinson commented: “We were delighted to act for the Shareholders following a number of off-market approaches by private-equity backed buy-and-build platforms. Whilst the vendors had not been actively seeking an exit, they could see the advantages of being part of a bigger group, but the deal had to be right. We quickly sought and negotiated a substantial improvement in the initial offer terms and secured additional value through the completion mechanism.”

We first worked with Wilson Partners to support our cashflow management before engaging them for the sale of our business. From the moment we met Dan, Philip, and the team, we knew we could trust their judgement and work well together. They have been superb throughout the entire sale process - always on hand with expert advice and willing to go above and beyond. They made a complex process feel simple and ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We can’t recommend them highly enough.
