A new Business Growth Service has been launched with the goal of simplifying access to advice, support, and resources for small businesses across the UK. This initiative aims to address long-standing frustrations around fragmented and complex business support systems.
Recent research revealed that only 26% of UK SME employers sought external advice or information in 2023. Many small business owners found the current support landscape overly complicated, discouraging them from seeking the help they need to grow and succeed.
What to expect from the service
A revamped digital platform will form the core of this initiative, set to launch in the first half of 2025. The platform will be developed collaboratively with small businesses, local authorities, and devolved governments to ensure it delivers relevant, practical resources directly tailored to the needs of SMEs.
On average, UK small business owners spend over 33 hours per month managing internal administrative tasks. The Business Growth Service seeks to reduce this burden by offering streamlined tools, actionable guidance, and accessible support – freeing up valuable time for business owners to focus on growth and strategy.
This initiative marks a significant step forward in addressing the challenges faced by small businesses, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, clarity, and practical outcomes.
At Wilson Partners, we’re passionate about championing small businesses and supporting their growth. Initiatives like the Business Growth Service are essential in empowering SMEs with the tools and resources they need to thrive.
