Meet the Team in 90 Seconds – Sara Pedrotti

Introduce yourself…

I am Sara Pedrotti, Senior Tax Manager at Wilson Partners.  I married Fabio in 2013 having met him at work in 2005; I was given the desk opposite him, and the rest is history.

I grew up in the High Wycombe area, venturing north to Manchester to study Business Economics at university. After 3 years of higher education and a lot of fun, I followed in my mum’s footsteps applying for trainee accountancy positions.  During one interview, my interviewer recognised something in me stating ‘you would be great for a tax role’ and I haven’t looked back since.

One of my main qualities is that I like to feel that I have been helpful.  I certainly get this in my role as a tax manager; be it from helping people with the stress of completing their self assessment tax returns, to providing tax advice to assist clients in making meaningful decisions or training and sharing knowledge with the team.

Describe your role at WP

As a Tax Manager at Wilson Partners, I head up our private client tax team, where my main responsibility lies in managing the personal tax compliance team and ensuring all clients’ self assessment tax returns are filed by 31st Jan. I also advise clients around remuneration strategy, capital gains tax, property portfolios and residence or domicile issues.

Ask one colleague to describe you

“Sara is a great person to be around, both in a work setting and socially. She is kind, caring, professional and great at her job. I have witnessed first-hand her brilliant work ethic and dedication in the busy tax return season, in which she always manages to remain calm and composed. She does however have terrible taste in football team but makes up for this with her excellent beer and pub recommendations. On a personal level, I couldn’t imagine Wilson Partners without Sara, she is an amazing colleague and a great friend.” (Steve Lawrey)

Favourite drink in the office and out of the office

In the office you won’t see me far away from a can of Diet Coke and outside the office a good IPA or a gin.  My favourite tipples are either a citrus pale ale or a rhubarb gin and ginger ale.

Favourite Film

I love a good a film!  Growing up in the 80’s I have to mention the Back to the Future and Karate Kid trilogies, Pretty Woman and Top Gun  – I mean Tom Cruise as Maverick …  I also enjoy The Godfather films, Goodfellas and Pulp Fiction, but I have to admit to an addictive love of romantic comedies, my top five (in no particular order) being Wimbledon, Love Actually, The Holiday, The Wedding Singer and Notting Hill.

And not forgetting Christmas films …. has to be It’s a Wonderful Life, Die Hard and Home Alone … in that order !

Thanks for sharing Sara – let us know when you’re next putting a movie on as that is a great selection!
